Episode 2 of Science Works Here features Dr. Robert “Scott” Seville, parasitologist and longtime University of Wyoming professor who recently retired after 23 years with Wyoming INBRE, including 11 years as director and principal investigator.
Under his leadership, the program strengthened biomedical research and education across Wyoming’s colleges and universities by expanding opportunities for students and faculty, funding research projects, increasing access to advanced equipment, and providing resources to build research capacity.
Dr. Seville’s career also included service as head of the University of Wyoming’s Department of Zoology and Physiology, senior associate dean of the College of Agriculture, Life Sciences and Natural Resources, president of the National Association of IDeA Principal Investigators (NAIPI), and a member of the EIF Board of Directors. Through his work with EIF and other national organizations, Dr. Seville has long been a leading voice for the IDeA program, raising awareness of its impact and championing continued support for the institutions, researchers and communities it serves.
Watch the episode below to learn how Wyoming INBRE has built connections, expanded opportunities and strengthened research infrastructure across the state, and how sustained investment in the IDeA program continues to strengthen biomedical science in rural and underserved regions.
