Alaska INBRE Hosts 2025 Western Regional IDeA Conference
Alaska INBRE hosted the 2025 Western Regional IDeA Conference (WRIC) from Feb. 26-28 in Anchorage, Alaska. More than 400 faculty, staff, students, and industry stakeholders from across the country attended. The conference featured over 200 oral and poster presentations, making for three days of key scientific exchange and discovery.
John Fuller, representing the EPSCoR/IDeA Coalition, gave a talk about federal funding for IDeA and NIH and the outlook for both under the new Administration. He also led a panel discussion about advocacy.
The conference is a forum for biomedical scientists to exchange knowledge with their colleagues regarding the most recent research in the NIH IDeA Western Region.
The Western IDeA states are Alaska, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, and Wyoming. WRIC included oral and poster scientific sessions, professional development workshops, information sharing sessions and keynote talks.
