NIH Funding Opportunity: Research With Activities Related to Diversity
NIGMS is pleased to share a new notice of funding opportunity for the UNITE initiative, an NIH-wide effort to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in biomedical research. The Research With Activities Related to Diversity (ReWARD) program aims to enhance the breadth and geographical location of research and research-related activities supported by NIH. The program supports the health-related research of scientists who are making a significant contribution to diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA) and who have no current NIH research project grant funding. ReWARD grants will also provide support for the principal investigator (PI) to continue their DEIA-promoting activities.
DOE Announces $14M to Optimize Production of Affordable Biofuels and Biochemicals
The DOE has announced $14 million in funding to support and optimize the production of affordable biofuels and biochemicals while significantly reducing carbon emissions. The 2023 Conversion R&D FOA will accelerate the growth of the bioeconomy by supporting the development of high-impact technologies that convert domestic biomass and waste resources into affordable biofuels and bioproducts through two topic areas.
NSF: Use-Inspired Research Addressing Global Challenges in Climate Change and Clean Energy
NSF has announced the launch of Global Centers, an ambitious new effort to fund international, interdisciplinary collaborative research centers that will apply best practices of broadening participation and community engagement to develop use-inspired research on climate change and clean energy.
NSF, NASA, NIH: 6 Agencies Launch Program to Build Prototype Open Knowlange Program
In collaboration with five other US government agencies, NSF has launched the Building the Prototype Open Knowledge Network, or Proto-OKN, funding opportunity, a $20 million initiative that will build a prototype version of an integrated data and knowledge infrastructure called an open knowledge network.
