25 EPSCoR Jurisdictions Represented in NSF’s 2019 CAREER Award Recipients

Last week on August 7, NSF announced the recipients of its FY 2019 Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) Awards. NSF has invested over $250 million in its nearly 700 award recipients. This year’s EPSCoR representation includes 103 recipients across 25 jurisdictions.

"Investment in exemplary faculty members early in their careers is key to achieving the National Science Foundation's mission to enhance the United States' science and engineering ecosystem.”

France Córdova, NSF Director

The CAREER awards provide funding to early-career faculty with “the potential to serve as academic role models in research and education, and to lead advances within their organizations.” Recipients receive a minimum of $400,000 to be used over the course of the next five years. The purpose of the award is to support early career faculty as they advance their fields and educate the next generation of researchers. Recipients represent all areas of NSF-supported science and engineering.
