SOUTH CAROLINA: INBRE student named Goldwater Scholar

College of Charleston

SC INBRE student Brison Shira, College of Charleston, has been named a 2022 Goldwater Scholar. Shira is a double major in Biochemistry and Classics and is researching peptide sequencing with non-canonical residues (Jay Forsythe, mentor).

From an estimated pool of over 5,000 college sophomores and juniors, Goldwater scholarships were awarded to 417 students from across the US for the 2022-2023 academic year.
