MONTANA: Student received SPIE Scholarship

Riley Logan has been awarded the 2021 John Kiel Scholarship by SPIE, the international society for optics and photonics, for his potential contributions to the field of optics and optical engineering.
Logan is a Ph.D. student at Montana State University in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department. He works in the Optical Remote Sensor Laboratory under the supervision of Dr. Joseph A. Shaw. His technical interests lie primarily in the fields of optical remote sensing and polarization. Logan currently researches the use and development of remote sensing techniques, such as airborne hyperspectral imaging, to assess water quality in contaminated waterways. He currently serves as the President of the SPIE Student Chapter at Montana State University.
