MISSISSIPPI: INBRE Research Scholars 2022 – Perriann Smith

Perriann Smith was the highest Mississippi INBRE Research Scholar to place in the poster competition at the Mississippi IDeA/EPSCoR Conference 2022. Smith won third place in the STEM Laboratory Poster Competition with her presentation “Hydrogen peroxide produced by Streptococcus pneumoniae through pyruvate oxidase (SpxB) catalyzes the oxidation of hemoglobin and the formation of a potential ferryl radical.”
