SOUTH DAKOTA: State Capitol Will Host Student Researchers March 9
South Dakota colleges and universities will send 11 outstanding undergraduate student researchers to the State Capitol next week to share their research work with lawmakers and the public. The 2022 Student Research Poster Session, co-sponsored by SD EPSCoR, is open to the public.
These 11 student researchers represent students statewide who conduct research in a variety of disciplines. Now in its 25th year, the event showcases research and creative activities of undergraduate students, as well as highlights successful faculty research and commercialization efforts. The session is organized by the South Dakota Board of Regents and SD EPSCoR (South Dakota’s Established Program to Stimulate Competitive Research).
Students competitively chosen to participate in Wednesday’s event are:
- Teagen Hartley (Watertown), representing Black Hills State University
- Conner Tordsen (Fairmont, Minnesota), representing Dakota State University
- Ryan Clay (Aberdeen), representing Northern State University
- Jennifer Johnson (Las Cruces, New Mexico), representing South Dakota School of Mines and Technology
- Megan Schulte (Watertown); Keitra Cabinboy (Okoboji, Iowa); and Mackenzie Hubbard (Brookings), representing South Dakota State University
- Ruby Hawks (Hartford); and Nicholas Rasmussen (Vermillion), representing the University of South Dakota
- Elisha Yellow Thunder [Wakpamni Lake, SD (Wazi Ahanhan Oyanke (Pine Ridge Indian Reservation)], representing SD EPSCoR
- Krista Goerger (Mankato, Minnesota), representing South Dakota’s Biomedical Research Infrastructure Network (SD BRIN)
