EPSCoR/IDeA Task Forces

Dr. Paul Hill, Chair of the EPSCoR/IDeA Foundation announced the creation of Agency Task Forces. The Task Forces will serve as liaisons between the Coalition and Foundation Boards and the six Federal agencies with IDeA and EPSCoR-like programs. The Task Force structure allows for more in-depth discussions about issues. They will broaden participation and be a conduit for new initiatives and recommendations. The Task Forces are a function of the Foundation but will involve Coalition Members and other EPSCoR and IDeA researchers.

The Chairs are:

NSF – Dr. Paul Hill, West Virginia
NIH – Dr. Patricia Hand, Maine
NASA – Dr. Bill Hiscock, Montana
DOE – Dr. Tom McCoy, Montana
DOD – Dr. Peter Alphonso, Rhode Island
EPA – Dr. Jean’ne Shreeve, Idaho
   
The Task Forces are already meeting and identifying issues that significantly impact our EPSCoR and IDeA researchers and their institutions. The Task forces hope to capture essential information about EPSCoR/IDeA-related achievements, issues, and recommendations, and make this information available to transition teams that will facilitate the change in Administrations during the coming year.
