Dr. Booze received her Ph.D. from The Johns Hopkins University, completed a post-doctoral fellowship at Duke University and became an Assistant Professor Physiology and Pharmacology at Wake Forest University. She moved to the University of Kentucky in 1991, where she rose through the ranks to Full Professor. Dr. Booze was recruited in July 2002 to the University of South Carolina and is a Professor and Endowed Chair in the Department of Psychology. Dr. Booze currently is principal investigator on multiple federally funded grants (National Institutes of Health and National Science Foundation), is a member of federal scientific review panels and editor of several scientific journals. Dr. Booze served as Associate Vice President for Research at the University of South Carolina for two years prior to her current appointment. She serves as the University liaison with the scientific and business community.
