Director, Nebraska EPSCoR

Dr. Choobineh is Blackman Distinguished Professor of Electrical Engineering at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where he also holds a courtesy appointment as a professor of Management. His research interests are in electric power system and manufacturing system engineering.  He has served as the Director of Nebraska EPSCoR since 2004.

Dr. Choobineh received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Masters of Engineering, and Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from Iowa State University.  He is a Fellow of the Institute of Industrial Engineers, a recipient of the Joseph K. Walkup Prominence in Industrial Engineering Award from Iowa State University and a recipient of numerous teaching awards from the University of Nebraska.  He has served as the principal or co-principal investigator of over $57 million in grants from federal and state agencies and industry. Dr. Choobineh has also been active in faculty governance and has served as president of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Academic Senate. He is a registered Professional Engineer in Nebraska.
